The
Samuel Justus Trail is recognized by the National Recreation
Trail system and listed in the National Trails System. This
trail is nearly six miles long and connects to the Allegheny
Valley Trails Association (AVTA) trail system. Total paved
mileage including the East Sandy Creek Trail is more than
twenty (40) miles.
The Trail is used for walking - jogging - bicycling - roller
blading - hiking
and horseback riding. No motorized vehicles are allowed. This
trail system transverses much scenic beauty that is rarely
seen elsewhere. These trails will eventually be part of an
extensive trail system that will extend from the Great Lakes
to Washington, D.C. Allegheny Valley Trails Association (AVTA)
